6.10 Featuring Tori McCue & Derrick Aroh
Monday Jun 08, 2020
Monday Jun 08, 2020
In solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and in support of our community, we pushed the season six finale back until today. Before you listen to this episode we encourage you to research and donate to organizations dedicated to uplifting and empowering black communities and voices. We encourage you to sign petitions and contact your local elected officials to defund the police and hold racist police officers accountable for their actions. And if you can, safely, we encourage you to make your voice heard and join the protests.
That said, we think it's important to share this episode and offer a platform to the artists featured.
The season six finale features two industry veterans: Tori McCue, Columbia Record’s International Marketing Manager and Derrick Aroh, the VP of A&R at RCA Records.
Tori introduces LA’s Boylife and his unique, honest brand of pop while Derrick spins a stank face-worthy record from Monsune.
We discuss Rochester’s own Mister Novela and London’s DC — two young rappers defining their own sounds outside of the city’s they’re from. Plus we dive into Liv.e with a special stand out from her latest daring, genre-fluid EP.
